Training Excercise - Maradona Turn

On a regular basis we will be asking the players to practice a skill in between the training sessions and then asking them to demonstrate it to us.

We have started to use the a website called TeachPE which has got tons of drills and exercises to help with all aspects of football.

This week we have asked the kids to practice a skill called the Maradona Turn.

Please spend a few minutes with your son to watch and understand the skill, then give them any help they need in trying to accomplish it.

The link can be found here: http://www.teachpe.com/soccer_football/individual_skills/maradona_turn.php

Have fun!!

Cheers

Rob

Squads for Rothwell Town Gala

Rothwell Town (A) - Jacob M, Ben, Harry, Oliver, Sam M, Max, Sam P and Josh
Rothwell Town (B) - Kaden, Harrison, Kai, Michael, Dom, Arnie, Liam and Jacob B
Rothwell Town (C) - Robert, Seamus, Lewis, Ryan, Euan, Rhys, Dan and Ralph

Rothwell Town B don't have GK so we will be asking players to take it in turns in goal.

Also, please read email from Richard Godden, re. Volunteers

Our gala in nearly upon us!!

The programmes are written and with the printer - and we are even making progress on marking out the 8 pitches!!.
Marking out will be completed on Friday.

It is a big event and we will have 350 children arriving from 8am (some before I can assure you!!) for your U9 and U10 event plus parents/grandparents etc. The same numbers will arrive on Sunday!

On the day we have 8 pitches to finalise - goals to erect (Plastic ones from scratch! the metal ones are easy) - spectator barriers - car park barriers - signage - BBQ's - Control tents.
A big task before 8-8.15am.

START TIME IS 06.30 - 6.45 very latest as we need coffees and butties on the go from 8.15
There are lots of jobs to do

We will need 20 of us each morning at this time (6.30) to get the job done and not let the waiting masses down!!!.
The vast bulk of these must be U9 and U10 managers/coaches/parents on the Saturday and U7/U8 on the Sunday - but as you can appreciate we need much help on both days from a wider group of people and all age groups & parents.
Could all age group managers circulate this message to your coaches/parents and advise me by Wednesday night how many "volunteers" we will have.

It promises to be a great weekend - but it needs everybody at the club to assist (and a bit of help from the weather!!!)

Could I also request that help on the T-bar/BBQ be forthcoming from mum & dads - an hour or even half an hour to relieve our core of 8 who will be there all day will be much appreciated. Again please pass the message around your parents and liase with Mick/Kim and Fiona on the day.

Finally, for tonight, I have sent the group text below to all Managers attending the U7 Sunday event. If you have details for your groups then something similar - or better - will help just to remind them of the event / timings and monies for the gala programme. It can also be sent to your parents.

Many thanks
Regards

Richard

Sorry one final point - I have been asked today who gets a free programme! I think you will all agree that the only fair way to solve this is to confirm in advance that everybody pays! This way there is no doubt and nobody is put in any awkward positions. Thanks again.
