How big was that Pitch!!!

After tasting defeat for the first time last week at the hands of a good Fryston team, Rothwell bounced back with a hard fought draw.

The captains' role was taken up by Euan this week and his commitment was 1st class with some great runs out of defence. Racing into a 2-0 lead with a fine free kick from Dan followed by a great finish from a corner by Rhys which was his first goal in Rothwell colours.

Wee Thorpe began to find their feet and a speculative long range effort that Robert could do nothing about brought them back into the game. However, that was swiftly followed by the goal of the game in which Ryan dribbled and switched feet to fire into the corner for a great solo goal.

The size of pitch and the lack of substitutes really made the second half tough going. Despite a fantastic effort by the defence, Lewis, Robert, Euan, Rhys and Dom Wrenthorpe managed to pull 2 goals back with the equaliser coming with only a minute to go.

Man of the match goes to Lewis burrows who stuck to his position, marked well and did everything asked of him by his team and coaches, well done. Lewis, Colin owes you a bag of sweets!

Home match next week, 3 points is the target.
